Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has directed government agencies to expedite the process of land acquisition for road construction projects, Orda.kz reports.
At a government meeting, Transport Minister Marat Karabayev highlighted progress made in 2024 in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Construction. Specifically, they managed to streamline the process for quarry registration, cutting the timeline down to six months.
Considering that the simplified registration standards for quarries expire this year, we are working on extending them and further reducing the registration times. For new projects, we have already identified the necessary land areas for acquisition, Karabayev stated.
Bektenov emphasized the need for thorough preparation to prevent delays and cost overruns in highway construction. He instructed Akimats to reserve land in advance, rezone it for infrastructure use, and impose a moratorium on transferring these plots for other purposes.
The Ministry of Industry, together with Akimats, must prepare all necessary documentation for quarries involved in road projects. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport must work on legislative measures to speed up land acquisition for public infrastructure, Bektenov said.
