Atyrau Region: Incident at Gas Well Occured

On March 6, a gas release occurred at a well at the Zapadnaya Prorva field, and a fire started, reports an Orda.kz correspondent.
The EmbaMunayGas press service later confirmed that emergency operations had been completed, the gas release was contained, and the site was secured.
However, the company acknowledged that injuries did occur during the incident.
After the completion of liquidation work at well No. 437 of the Zapadnaya Prorva field, an incident occurred. During preparatory work for killing the well by the contractor KazTechMunayService LLP, during hydraulic testing, a depressurization of the kill line occurred. As a result, one of the workers received a chest contusion, without damage to internal organs, the message says.
The injured worker is under medical observation at Kulsary's central district hospital. Officials say he is not in danger. A second worker was examined and released.
The incident has been reported to the regional Department of State Labor Inspection.
