This stems from the process of separating FlyArystan from its parent company, Orda.kz reports.
Starting January 1, 2025, Air Astana will no longer be listed as a defendant in lawsuits involving FlyArystan.
Lawyer Danilkhan Shagatayev, who has represented plaintiffs in several prominent cases against the airline, shared this update.
On Telegram, Shagatayev wrote:
During today’s court hearing, a representative from Air Astana confirmed that starting on January 1, 2025, FlyArystan will operate as an independent entity in legal matters. What does this mean? If, previously, in the event of any legal disputes concerning FlyArystan, claims were directed at Air Astana now FlyArystan will independently act as a defendant in court.
He further noted that any claims filed before January 1, 2025, will continue to be processed against Air Astana.
Over a year ago, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport announced that FlyArystan had been separated from Air Astana.
The low-cost airline has since become an independent entity, obtaining its operator certificate while remaining a wholly-owned subsidiary of the national carrier.
