Uzbek President Grants Powers to Head of Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree granting broad powers to the head of his administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva. Orda.kz reports, citing Gazeta.uz.

According to the decree, the head of the presidential administration, her deputies, assistants, advisers, presidential representatives, and heads of structural divisions are appointed and dismissed by the President.

Saida Shavkatovna Mirziyoyeva — the president’s daughter — was appointed as the head of the presidential administration in late June.

She is now authorized to:

  • Approve the administration’s staffing structure
  • Appoint and dismiss deputy advisers and department heads
  • Hire domestic and foreign experts for development projects
  • Set salaries (in local or foreign currency)
  • Oversee performance evaluations of management staff

The head of the administration is also empowered to approve the annual spending plan and financial documents related to operations, including staff bonuses and material assistance.

These authorities remain in place until changes are made to existing legislation.
