Tax inspections have affected several hundred companies, with 17 billion tenge already transferred to the state budget, Orda.kz reports.
Following an analysis by the State Revenue Committee, 633 companies — including 172 major construction firms and 100 retail businesses — received notices regarding potential underreporting of taxable income.
Companies have submitted additional forms and are making supplementary tax payments. As of March 12, 17 billion tenge has already been paid, including contributions from BI Group and BAZIS. The inspection is ongoing, the State Revenue Committee reported.
Some large construction firms have proposed collaborating with the committee to develop digital solutions to ensure financial transparency and combat shadow financial schemes.
Recently, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov criticized businesses for using tax optimization schemes.
Suggesting that companies with billion-tenge turnovers underreport their tax obligations, he demanded that BI Group, BAZIS, and other major firms submit revised declarations and pay outstanding taxes within two weeks.
BI Group denied the allegations in response, stating that it fully complies with tax regulations and undergoes regular audits.
