Support For Rural Doctors Doubles Amid Staffing Shortage

Kazakhstan has doubled support for doctors working in rural areas as part of efforts to address the shortage of medical staff, Orda.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Health.

In 2025, about 4.5 billion tenge was allocated to support medical workers, compared with 2.2 billion tenge a year earlier. Payments were made to 529 doctors, up from 254 in 2024. In addition, nearly 24,000 medical workers completed advanced training funded by the state budget.

Support for medical workers is one of our key priorities. We are strengthening social protection measures and creating conditions for professional growth.Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova said. 

Doctors working in the regions are also eligible for preferential housing loans, relocation payments and compensation of expenses. In 2025, 1,760 doctors received various forms of support, ranging from official housing to utility compensation.

The authorities also introduced a new honorary title, “Kazakhstannyn enbeksinigen dárigeri,” along with a cash payment and an award for the best specialists.
