Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev has suggested that Russia and Kazakhstan are moving toward "collaborative decisions" regarding Kazakhstan's first nuclear power plant project.

His comments came amid planned high-level talks between the prime Ministers of both countries.

Speaking to RIA Novosti, Likhachev expressed optimism about potential joint efforts in nuclear power development:

Based on the context of the discussions today at the meeting of the Heads of Government of our countries, we can conclude that we are moving towards joint decisions...We are already actively working and cooperating.

Likhachev praised Kazakhstan's methodical approach to the nuclear power plant project, highlighting a recent Kazakh delegation's visit to examine Russia's nuclear industry.

However, he did not mention that Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev has made similar visits to South Korea, China, and France.

The Rosatom chief appeared confident about his company's involvement in the project, stating:

We will be particularly pleased to work here.
