President Receives Report from Interior Minister on Crime Reduction

Qasym-Jomart Toqayev has heard a report from Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov, reports Orda.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported to the President that the number of crimes in the country decreased by 12,700 last year. However, he did not specify compared to which period.
According to Yerzhan Sadenov, the country has significantly decreased serious crimes, such as homicides, robberies, burglaries, and thefts.
Thanks to the implementation of modern investigation methods, detection rates have improved across all categories of criminal offenses, stated the minister.
Other statistics:
- Detained 1,949 wanted persons
- Convicted 264 people for participation in organized crime groups
- Blocked 7,500 drug-dealing websites
- Seized 22 tons of drugs, shut down 64 drug laboratories
- Blocked 65 million calls from internet fraudsters
- Prevented fraudsters from transferring two billion tenge out of Kazakhstan
Qasym-Jomart Toqayev gave Yerzhan Sadenov instructions for further work.
