The Almaty Region Police Department has released a preliminary conclusion of the forensic medical examination. According to it, the injuries of Sherzat Polat's uncle are characteristic of suicide.
The death of a 30-year-old man, whose body was found on December 9 on the outskirts of Talgar, was caused by mechanical asphyxia, typical of self-hanging. There are no traces on the body indicating a violent nature of death. Experts note that the discovered bodily injuries, such as a strangulation groove and abrasions in the neck area, correspond to injuries caused by the use of a noose. All signs point to suicide, since the unevenness of the groove and the nature of the injuries are typical for such cases. The discovered areas resembling abrasions in the postauricular region of the mastoid process and the occipital region could have arisen from friction and compression of the noose.
Law enforcement agencies continue to investigate all the circumstances.
