KEGOC, Kazakhstan’s national grid operator, has distributed dividends for the second half of 2024, totaling over 22.2 billion tenge, Orda.kz reports.
In April, the company set dividends at 81 tenge per common share. The largest payments went to major shareholders: the Samruq-Qazyna National Welfare Fund (85.49%) and the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (6.93%).
The company has recently come under scrutiny due to issues, including a widening gap between electricity production and consumption, and equipment purchases at inflated prices, as flagged by the Supreme Audit Chamber.
In 2023, it was also reported that KEGOC’s top executives received a 50% pay increase.
