Kazakhstan Plans to Ban Hunting With Drones and Night Vision Devices

Kazakhstan plans to ban the use of drones and night vision devices in hunting. The measure is included in a new bill adopted by the Mazhilis, Orda.kz reports.
According to deputy Dusenbai Turganov, the law on administrative offenses related to wildlife and hunting expands the list of prohibited hunting methods to include modern technology.
We are expanding the list of prohibited hunting methods. We are adding restrictions on the use of modern technical means — drones, night vision devices and other equipment. These technologies give hunters too much advantage and increase pressure on wildlife, so we are introducing such restrictions.Turganov said.
He added that the law also introduces separate rules for the use of special equipment and weapons in order to prevent abuse, and strengthens responsibility for animal owners in cases of mistreatment.
The deputy also said the law not only increases liability for violations, but also raises fines and introduces punishment for the illegal trafficking of saigas.
