Kazakhstan Denies Reports of Drones Being Transported to Russia

The State Revenue Committee has denied reports about the seizure of a batch of drones allegedly being transported from Kazakhstan to Russia, calling the information false, Orda.kz reports.
According to the committee, “the facts are presented incorrectly”: the drones were actually heading into Kazakhstan from Russia and were later returned.
The Russian Federal Customs Service, however, claimed the opposite.
In fact, the aforementioned UAVs were detained on June 13 at the Zhaisan automobile checkpoint by officers of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan while attempting to import them from the Russian Federation without the necessary documents,the State Revenue Committee said.
The confiscated drones were handed over to revenue officials, who confirmed they required a special import permit. The cargo owner was tried and fined, and the drones were returned to Russia on September 15.
Earlier, Russia’s Federal Customs Service had announced that a truck carrying drones and components, allegedly traveling from Kazakhstan to Bashkortostan, was intercepted at the border.
The next day, Ukrainian drones struck a Gazprom plant in Bashkortostan.
