Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy has initiated emergency redirection of crude exports to alternative transport corridors following the drone strike on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) terminal in Novorossiysk, Orda.kz reports.
The ministry condemned the use of force against civilian energy infrastructure, calling it a threat to regional and global supply stability.
The CPC pipeline system is an international energy project, and any forceful intervention against it creates direct risks to global energy security and also causes significant damage to the economic interests of the consortium participants, including Kazakhstan,
the department stated.
To prevent production disruptions and mitigate the impact of the shutdown, export flows are being shifted to backup routes under an accelerated plan.
The ministry added that the situation is under government oversight.
Yesterday at 06:06 Astana time, floating drones struck the CPC marine loading facilities, severely damaging the SPU-2 single-point mooring unit, which has since been fully taken offline.
