Qasym-Jomart Tokayev and Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok held a joint press briefing in Astana following negotiations, Orda.kz reports.
During Sulyok’s first official visit to Kazakhstan, Toqayev awarded him the Order of Dostyq (Friendship), First Class, and announced a new stage in bilateral cooperation.
Our brotherly nations share common historical roots. Your state was one of the first to recognize Kazakhstan’s independence. Hungary also became the first EU country to establish a strategic partnership with us, Toqayev said.
The two sides agreed to expand cooperation in energy, nuclear industry, finance, and agriculture. They also discussed the possible resumption of direct flights between Astana and Budapest.
Sulyok, in turn, called Kazakhstan a reliable partner in digitalization.
We are closely following the digitalization process in Kazakhstan, which is a leader in this area not only in the region but globally. We view your country as a respected partner in this key field and hope to deepen bilateral cooperation,Sulyok stated.
