FMA: Perizat Kairat Suspected of Embezzling Another 200 Million

The Financial Monitoring Agency reported on a new count in the investigation into Biz Birgemiz Kazakhstan charity foundation founder Perizat Kairat, Orda.kz reports.
In November 2023, the activist organized a fundraiser to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine.
The head of the fund is suspected of embezzling over 200 million tenge in this count.
FMA reports that in December 2023, Perizat Kairat used this money to purchase a three-room apartment in the elite complex “Sensata Plaza” for 49 million tenge and a new Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4 Matic for 30 million tenge.
In addition, she spent part of the money in the UAE on purchasing jewelry, watches and clothes from branded boutiques Rolex, Prada and Fendi, writes FMA
The investigation continues.
Meanwhile, on November 15, the investigation requested that the suspect, Perizat Kairat, be arrested for up to two months.
By the decision of the specialized inter-district investigative court of Astana dated November 16, the petition was granted, the statement said.
On November 14, FMA reported that Perizat Kairat is suspected of embezzling more than 1.5 billion tenge, which was collected to help people affected by the spring floods.
The Biz Birgemiz Kazakhstan website states that in November 2023, they began raising funds to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine.
As of today, assistance has been provided in the amount of 300 million tenge,
the website says.
When exactly and what kind of assistance is not specified.
In November 2023, on Toqayev's instructions, the Palestinian people received one million dollars in humanitarian aid.
At the same time, the government of Kazakhstan sent food, bedding, medicines, and medical products to Palestine – over 38 tons.
