A Kazakh Citizen Was Shot Dead On A Street In Istanbul, Foreign Ministry Comments

The attack took place in Istanbul’s Fatih district, where Kazakh citizen Arif Ismailov was fatally shot in the head, Orda.kz reports.
According to local media, at around 4:30 p.m. on March 31, an unidentified person approached the man on Zeynep Kamil Street, shot him, and fled. The victim died at the scene. The attack was captured on CCTV.
The suspects, two Georgian citizens, were later detained while trying to escape. They were found near the border in Edirne with the help of a drone.
Police said the men had arrived there by car, but no one was inside during the inspection. The suspects were later found trying to flee on foot. The driver of the car is also under investigation. A separate case has been opened against him under articles related to illegal migration and human trafficking.
Orda.kz requested comment from Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan is aware of the incident involving a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan that occurred on March 31 this year in Istanbul’s Fatih district. The competent authorities of the Republic of Turkey are currently carrying out the necessary investigative measures.the ministry said.
Kazakhstan’s Consulate General in Istanbul is providing assistance to the relatives of the deceased.
