Kazakh director Robert Kun has been chosen to direct Jackie Chan’s upcoming film Armor of God: Ultimatum, Orda.kz reports.
According to Salem Entertainment, the legendary actor personally selected Kun to serve as both director and fight choreographer for the project.
Robert Kun is among the few Kazakhstani filmmakers to have collaborated with major global studios, including Disney, Paramount, Universal, and 20th Century Fox. His credits include work on Major Grom: The Game, I Am Dragon, Wanted, and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
Filming for Armor of God: Ultimatum is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026.
The Armor of God franchise remains one of Jackie Chan’s most iconic. The original 1986 film became an instant cult hit, followed by Operation Condor (1991) and Chinese Zodiac (2012).
Earlier, Orda.kz reported that during his stay in Almaty, Jackie Chan scouted filming locations for the new movie, with a significant portion expected to be shot in Kazakhstan.
