Kazakhstan’s Prosecutor General Investigating Businessman Dulat Kozhamzharov - Nege Aqsha

The Prosecutor General's Office is investigating businessman Dulat Kozhamzharov, the brother of former Prosecutor General Kairat Kozhamzharov, as part of efforts to recover illegally acquired assets, Orda.kz reports, citing the Nege.Aqsha Telegram channel.
According to Nege.Aqsha, the Asset Recovery Committee has included Dulat Kozhamzharov on the list of individuals subject to asset recovery laws. His representatives sought to revoke the decision but were unsuccessful.
At an Anti-Corruption Agency briefing on March 19, Deputy Chair Darkhan Kurakbayev stated that no investigations were being conducted against Dulat Kozhamzharov. The Orda.kz editorial team has sent an inquiry to the Prosecutor General's Office for clarification.
Dulat Kozhamzharov ranks 57th on the Kazakhstan Forbes list with an estimated fortune of $110 million.
He is the founder of seven companies and controls Hill Corporation, a major lubricant producer operating a production complex in Shymkent. His brother, Kairat Kozhamzharov, has held various high-ranking positions, including Akim of Aqmola Oblast, Prosecutor General, and Senate deputy.
Recently, the Kozhamzharov family lost a key asset: three land plots near the Shymkent Oil Refinery.
The land, covering over 54 hectares, was controlled by Hill Invest, a company managed by Kuat Kozhamzharov—another brother of Kairat Kozhamzharov. Authorities found that the company received the land in 2012, violating the Land Code, and failed to develop it for 13 years.
Hill Invest did not contest the state's decision to reclaim the property.
It remains possible that the Asset Recovery Committee is now reviewing how Dulat Kozhamzharov’s businesses acquired their land holdings.
