Chinese companies are ready to resume purchasing Kazakhstan's grain. The Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, and the Chair of the Board of China Grain Reserves Group Ltd. Deng Yiwu agreed upon this, Orda.kz reports.

According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov and Deng Yiwu discussed the supply of Kazakh grain on October 18 at a meeting in Astana. A delegation of Chinese business people is currently in the capital, assessing the potential for cooperation with Kazakhstan.

At the meeting, matters concerning supply and trade of grain and oilseed crops between Kazakhstan and China were discussed,
the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

Aidarbek Saparov has stated that Kazakhstani farmers have had good crop yields in 2024: almost 26 million tons of high-quality grain. They plan to harvest three million tons of oilseeds. Kazakhstan is very interested in the Chinese market, so annual grain supplies to China may increase to three to four million tons.

Deng Yiwu noted that China is interested in Kazakhstan's grain, oilseeds, and soybeans. Therefore, expanding supplies benefits both parties and Kazakhstan and China will jointly resolve logistical problems. The first 100,000 tons of grain and the same amount of oilseeds will be sent to China soon.

China may take some of Russia's share, which recently restricted the import of wheat and other crops from Kazakhstan.
