Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy has denied claims that Russia has suspended the shipment of Kazakhstan's oil through Black Sea ports due to new restrictions on foreign tankers, Orda.kz reports.

"As of today, the shipment of Kazakh oil through Russian Federation seaports has not been suspended," the Ministry stated.

Officials clarified, however, that KazTransOil — the national company responsible for overseeing oil exports — is currently addressing the situation at the port of Ust-Luga, where additional security measures are being implemented to protect transport infrastructure.

Negotiations are underway with Russia’s Nevskaya Pipeline Company to resolve the issue.

Russian President Vladimir Putin introduced new restrictions on the entry of foreign tankers into Russian ports.

The move came in response to the European Union’s 18th sanctions package targeting Russia’s oil and banking sectors. Following the announcement, Reuters sources indicated that Kazakh oil shipments through Russian Black Sea ports had been temporarily paused.
