Kazakhmys Signs New Collective Agreement with Enhanced Benefits

Kazakhmys Corporation signed a new collective agreement with unions for 2025-2029 on January 22, 2025, Orda reports, citing the company's press service.
Key changes:
- Childbirth payments increased 5x
- Marriage benefits introduced
- Support for parents of children with special needs added
- Medical insurance expanded to employees in normal working conditions
- Over 200 company apartments to be transferred to employees
- Targeted social assistance for specific employee categories
- Adaptation funding for children with disabilities
Safety is our first priority, followed by social protection and productivity, said Chair Nurakhmet Nuriyev.
Union leaders called it one of the best agreements in recent years, noting enhanced employer social responsibility and worker input.
In December 2024, striking miners demanded better working conditions and higher wages.
