Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has signed a decree simplifying employment procedures for citizens of Turkic countries, Orda.kz reports.

Under the new rules, citizens of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan will be able to work and conduct business in Türkiye without undergoing complex permit procedures.

Citizens of Turkic countries are now allowed to work officially in public institutions and private companies — with the exception of the military and security agencies. The requirement to hold Turkish citizenship for residence and employment has also been lifted,
the decree states, as published in the official gazette Resmî Gazete.

Foreign nationals will be required to register with professional associations on the same basis as Turkish citizens. However, they will not have the right to vote or be elected to public office.

Erdoğan signed the decree just days after the summit of the Organization of Turkic States, where member states agreed to create conditions for the free movement of labor across their territories.

At the summit in Gabala, Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev proposed establishing a Council on Cybersecurity, expanding the Turkic Investment Fund, and supporting the launch of an industrial cooperation program.
