Aqtobe Hostage Incident, Details Emerge

A hostage situation in Aqtobe ended with police freeing a woman but discovering two victims in the building's cellar.
The incident began around 8 PM when authorities received reports of a hostage at a private residence.
Special forces responded and attempted negotiations with the 40-year-old suspect, who knew the hostage but made no demands during the standoff.
After three hours of negotiations and refusal to comply with demands for release, as well as after careful preparation of forces, a decision was made to storm (the building - Ed.). As a result of the special operation, the man was detained and the woman was released.the police report.
During a search of the premises, officers found two people with stab wounds in the cellar – identified as the hostage's mother and stepfather.
One of the victims died during transportation, and the other died in the hospital. The woman herself also suffered at the hands of the attacker. She is under the supervision of doctors.the police department confirmed.
The 41-year-old surviving victim is receiving treatment in intensive care.
With a closed craniocerebral injury, concussion. Her condition is stable, severe, conscious, breathing independently. Today, we will transfer her to the ward. Psychologists are also talking to her.hospital officials stated.
Police have opened a criminal case under Article 99, "Homicide," and Article 26, "Taking of Hostages."
