An Orda correspondent reports this happened on a symbolic date - November 7, the Day of the Great October Socialist Revolution.
The monument was erected in 1928. It did not live to see his 100th year by 4 years. A strong wind caused a tree to fall on the monument and knock it off its pedestal. It broke into small pieces.
The spruce that was located nearby is the only spruce remaining out of four that were planted more than 60 years ago. This year, this spruce was 67 years old, Deputy Akim Svetlana Gladysheva said
Svetlana Gladysheva says the pedestal was damaged.
They will decide next week whether to remove it. The statue cannot be restored. They will only preserve the unique inscription in Arabic script, the only signature of Lenin in Kazakhstan in Arabic.
It will be transferred to a museum.
