Nursultan Nazarbayev’s grandson, Nurali Aliyev, addressed the media after photos from the Knights of Charity gala circulated online, Orda.kz reports.
On Instagram, Aliyev noted that he had shared the images himself and that headlines suggesting he was "noticed" were inaccurate.
In his post, he also introduced his son, Alan Aliyev, to the public.
The clarification came after some media mistakenly identified the young man in the photos as Tauman Nazarbayev, the son of Kazakhstan's former President, born in 2005. The mix-up likely contributed to speculation about who was accompanying Aliyev to the event.
Tauman Nazarbayev was born during Nursultan Nazarbayev’s relationship with Asel Kurmanbayeva and was first publicly mentioned in the former president’s book “My Life. From Dependence to Freedom.”
The presence of Nazarbayev family members at the high-profile charity event drew public attention.
The gala, held on Thursday, July 17, at the Croix des Gardes estate in France, was the fourth annual Knights of Charity evening. Among the guests were Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, with performances by Andrea Bocelli and Robin Thicke.
According to event materials, attendance required payment: seat reservations began at €12,000 and table reservations at €120,000. The exact details of Nurali and Alan Aliyev’s participation were not disclosed.
