In the first nine months of 2025, Kazakhstan produced 75.7 million tons of oil and condensate, an increase of 13.2% compared to the same period last year, Orda.kz reports.

Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov announced the figures at a government meeting on October 14. He said the overall oil production plan for 2025 remains unchanged at 96.2 million tons, which represents a 9.7% increase over 2024.

According to the minister, the growth was driven primarily by expansion at the Tengiz field, while operations at Karachaganak and the Caspian shelf also contributed.

Oil exports from January to September totaled 60.5 million tons, up 14.9% year-on-year. The annual export target stands at 70.5 million tons.

Gas production also increased, reaching 51.6 billion cubic meters—a 16.7% rise. Domestic marketable gas consumption, however, remained stable at 14.3 billion cubic meters, up just 0.4% from last year.

Akkenzhenov noted that production of petroleum products grew by 10.1%. By the end of the year, Kazakhstan expects to produce 13.7 million tons of fuel, 0.7% more than in 2024. The modest increase is attributed to scheduled maintenance at refineries.

In contrast, the petrochemical sector is expected to see stronger growth, with output projected to rise by 9.2% by year’s end.

It was previously reported that Kazakhstan plans to increase oil exports to Germany as part of its broader diversification strategy.
