Meteorologists Forecast Severe Drought in Parts of Kazakhstan's Regions

In August 2025, a high risk of drought persists across the south, west, and parts of central Kazakhstan, with dry conditions expected in 12 regions, Orda.kz reports.
Particularly dry weather is forecast in several areas of West Kazakhstan, Aqtobe, Qostanay, Qaraganda, Abay, Almaty, Qyzylorda, and Atyrau regions, as well as much of Mangystau, Jambyl, Turkistan, and Ulytau regions,
Kazhydromet said in a statement.
Moderately wet conditions are predicted only in the north and northwest of Qostanay Region and in parts of North Kazakhstan. In the remaining areas, soil moisture levels are expected to be within a normal range.
