Sherzat Polat: Investigation Ongoing - KazInform
The investigation into the killing of 16-year-old Sherzat in Talgar continues past its promised completion date of late 2024, Orda reports, citing KazInform.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs told Kazinform they had expanded the investigation to include additional criminal charges.
Additionally, eight criminal cases have been registered for theft, hooliganism, threats (and failure to report a crime). The preventive measure 'detention in custody' has been chosen for 11 defendants in the case. A pre-trial investigation is underway, and a procedural decision will be made based on the results, the department informed.
The Ministry had stated near the end of 2024 that they would complete the investigation by the year's end.
