Who Is Mr. Kospayev?
Yeldos Kospayev is known as Bolat Nazarbayev's "right hand" and his personal "specialist in raiding". He was recently put on the wanted list.
He also shies away from the spotlight. He has no social networks, and, judging by the available open, he does not have any operating business either.
Cases with Abdygapparov and Konakbayev
Yeldos Kospayev's name has been popping up in the news. Reports are that he is involved in the raider seizure of various enterprises. These actions always seem to be in conjunction with the Nazarbayev family.
At first, a scandal broke out around the construction company AV-Construction. Almas Abdygapparov, sentenced to seven years in a penal colony, Kospayev himself (from 2016 to 2018), and Bolat Nazarbayev's daughter Kunduz have all been the co-founders of this company at some point in time.
Yeldos Kospayev was a witness in the case of businessman Almas Abdygapparov, convicted of embezzlement of 420 million KZT. Abdygapparov claimed in his testimony that he had given Kospayev a million dollars from the sale of villas in the Esentai City residential complex. He was accused of embezzlement over this. Kospayev said at the trial that he "never gave him anything."
In May 2021, a few months before Abdygapparov's arrest, Kunduz Nazarbayeva resigned from the founders of the firm. The rest of her partners were arrested on suspicion of raiding on July 14, 2022. Yeldos Kospayev and his brother Aydin were put on the wanted list.
The head of this company, Rauan Babayev, was also detained on suspicion of raiding. Babayev, Abdygapparov's nephew, became the director of V-Constructions at the age of 24.
On July 18, the deputy of the Mazhilis, Serik Konakbayev, was also accused of raiding. Entrepreneur Ikram Abdukarimov reported that Konakbayev took away his share in the business, and Yeldos Kospayev helped him do it.
Olga, the wife of the convicted Almas Abdygapparov, said that Yeldos Kospayev, together with Bolat Nazarbayev, monopolized the entire liquor market in Kazakhstan.
According to her, Yeldos Kospayev has been involved in the raider seizure of Almaty business since about 2012.
"I know that this person came from Almaty microdistricts. His cruelty sets him apart, which is extremely rare to come across. This man beat up our employees. In 2016, when they forced Kunduz Nazarbayeva to join the founders of AV-Constructions, he beat our chief engineer in the construction of Esentai City,"
Olga Adbygapparova
She also spoke about the participation of other co-owners of the company in its seizure.
These people are under arrest on suspicion of raiding.
Who Is Mr. Kospayev?
"Dastan Abizhanov was, roughly speaking, Almas' lawyer. This is a former prosecutor's officer who was familiar with Bekzat Usenov and Yeldos Kospayev. Who is Bekzat Usenov? This is the husband of Kunduz Nazarbayeva, the former head of the Department of Economic Investigations of Almaty. Almas and I have never seen Bolat Nazarbayev, but Yeldos Kospayev had a red "booklet" in which it was written "Bolat Nazarbayev's assistant", and any door in Almaty could be opened with it. Kospayev, in my opinion, has no family ties with the Nazarbayev family. Somehow he won Bolat's favor. Yeldos has the nickname "The Cannibal" for a reason. He was appreciated by Bolat's entourage for his unscrupulousness and cruelty. The man has always achieved his goal, by any means. I think that's why he was so respected in these circles,"

Almatysteklo and The Shalkar-17 Distillery
In April 2022, Azim Abdullayev, co-founder and CEO of the Almaty Steklo plant and the Shalkar-17 distillery, said that he had become a victim of a raider seizure of business. He claims that Bolat Nazarbayev took over half of the share of his enterprises. According to him, Yeldos Kospayev also took part.
Bolat Nazarbayev, according to available sources, was listed as the co-founder of Almaty Steklo from July 2017 to August 2021. He was also a member of the founders of Shalkar-17 from July to November 2017.
Individual Proprietor
A sole proprietor with a small tax debt of 42 thousand KZT was registered to Yeldos Kospayev. Real estate in elite districts of Almaty is registered to the sole proprietor. Real estate in the town of Esentai City, built by AV-Construction, is also registered to it.
Judging by his registered residency (propiska), Kospayev lives in an elite townhouse in the mountains near Almaty.
Kospayev is also the founder of the Almaly Gornaya 103 "B" consumer cooperative.
Connection with Bolat Nazarbayev
Representatives of Bolat Nazarbayev deny his connection with Yeldos Kospayev, the press service of the Salikaly Urpak foundation reports.
"There are no business, partnership or other relations linking Bolat Nazarbayev and his son Nurbol with Yeldos Kospayev and there were no previous relationships,"
The letter from the Salikaly Urpak Foundation, sent to KazTAG agency, reads.
The fund also clarified that Bolat Nazarbayev does not lead any business life, but this is not entirely true.
The younger brother of the first Kazakh president is still listed as the founder of several companies, and three of them – Almaty rent company LLP, Auto market Karasay, and Karasay estate – were created quite recently: October-November 2021. They are registered at the same address.
Caught on Tape
In addition, videos began to appear on the Network where a man similar to Yeldos Kospayev assaults a man, presumably a Turkish citizen.
On July 23, a video began to be distributed on social networks where a man, who looks like Yeldos Kospayev, assaulted another man at the Fidelity fitness club in Almaty.
