On February 20, at about 9:40 a.m., a Su-30 fighter jet landed at Atyrau International Airport, Orda.kz reports.

Preliminary information suggests that the aircraft was on a training flight over the Caspian Sea when the pilot lost his bearings. A decision was then made to land in Kazakhstan.

The pilot was a Russian citizen born in 1986. After landing, airport staff provided the pilot with the necessary medical assistance. The jet later departed Atyrau and returned to Russia.

The circumstances are being clarified. There have been no official comments so far.
